A father, mother, and three children are dead after drinking poison because the end of the world has arrived, police in Utah said.
Springville Police said that Benjamin and Kristi Strack, told their friends and family that they were concerned about the apocalypse.
The parents and three of their four children, ages 11, 12, and 14, were found dead in a locked room of their house. All five were under blankets when they were found by police.
Police Chief J. Scott Finlayson said that detectives have completed their investigation and determined that the family members died from drug poisoning.
It was also determined that the parents committed suicide, while the deaths of the two younger children were homicides. The manner of death of 14-year-old Benson Strack, was undetermined.
Police said that Benson wrote a letter, leaving some of his belongings to his best friend.
Finlayson said that people who knew the Stracks said that they were concerned about the evil in the world, and wanted to escape imminent death.
